Fieldwork & Clinical Rotations

We host occupational therapy and physical therapy students for fieldwork and clinical rotations at our Oahu clinic. Placements are open only to students currently enrolled in an accredited OT or PT program.
Due to our limited space, we accept only 2 students per year per discipline (OT or PT), with only one student at a time. Our goal is to offer placements to students who could grow into future positions at Sprouts Therapy. We prioritize students pursuing occupational or physical therapy with a focus in pediatrics who fall into one of the following categories:
- Students attending Hawaiʻi Pacific University or another Hawaiʻi-based university, or
- Students with strong, established ties to Hawaiʻi — currently living here, grew up here, immediate family on the island, or attending school here — who plan to continue living and working in Hawaiʻi after graduation.
Please note:
- Placements are unpaid, and we host OT and PT students only.
- We're unable to accommodate SLP student placements or Speech Clinical Fellows (CFs) at this time — but we'd love to have you visit our Volunteer Information page to learn about volunteering and observation hours.
How to inquire
Inquiries are welcome from students directly or from your program's fieldwork or clinical education coordinator. If you (or your student) meet these criteria, email ALL of the following to info@sproutstherapy.com so we can forward the information to our clinical supervisor for consideration:
- Is the student pursuing OT or PT, with a focus in pediatrics?
- Which university are they attending?
- What are their ties to Hawaiʻi?
- Do they plan to live and work in Hawaiʻi after graduation?
- What dates are they looking to complete their rotation?
- The student's resume
If we're a potential fit, we'll ask you to connect us with your program's fieldwork or clinical education coordinator. We currently hold an affiliation agreement with Hawaiʻi Pacific University; for other universities, an affiliation agreement between the school and Sprouts Therapy will need to be in place before a placement can be confirmed.
Other ways to join the Sprouts ʻohana
If you're not currently enrolled in an OT or PT program, or a placement isn't an option, we'd love for you to check out our Volunteer Information page to learn about other ways to get involved at Sprouts Therapy.
Mahalo nui loa, and we wish you the very best of luck in your search for placement!
